In the 9th century deceaseds had been buried from rich royal families in the ships and equipped with all necessary one for the long journey to the kingdom of the dead. One found the grave of a Viking woman under a mound in 1904 from the year 834. This (rich) woman, possibly a queen became buried in a burial chamber behind the mast of the ship. This grave find is the rich and important till now from the Viking age. The ship is decorated so splendidly that one regards it as a royal yacht or for a ceremonial ship. The approx. 24 m long ship, a Viking nave, was reconstructed and is in the Viking museum of Oslo
